The journal would be concerned with the improvement of education in Africa, defined as the whole of the continent and including offshore islands such as Mauritius and Madagascar. This could be improvement in terms of educational access, process or output and at the level of whole education systems, regions, institutions or classrooms or a combination. It might concern gender issues, early childhood education, formal primary and secondary schooling, higher education, informal and non-formal education or home-based education
