Legislation

Apart from the Higher Education Act 101 of 1997 and the University Statute, the operation of Unisa is affected by a number of other laws. Most of these laws regulate the manner in which South Africa is giving effect to its transformation into a constitutional democracy and active member of the world community of nations. Others deal with the demands of technology and globalisation.

On this website, we provide links to all these laws. We do not claim that the list is exhaustive and it will surely grow as laws are added to the statute book. However, we trust that it will assist any person who needs to know more about the legislative regime within which the University finds itself.
