Unisa will assess your application according to the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice and your final mark received at undergraduate level.
Applications follow a formal selection and approval process, which may take up to three months to be finalised.
If you're applying to Unisa for the first time, you must complete: the First-Year Experience MOOC (FYE MOOC).
This free online course (UOL009-FYE101_2024) is designed to help you get started with your studies at Unisa.
Important: You won't be able to accept your offer from Unisa (step 2) until you’ve completed the FYE MOOC.
Once you've finished the First-Year Experience MOOC, it's time to accept or decline Unisa's offer for the 2026 academic year. You have 10 working days (unless otherwise indicated in your offer email) to make your decision.
If you applied for more than one qualification, please wait until all your applications are processed before accepting your preferred offer for 2026.
Important: Once you accept an offer, you will not be able to change your mind.

If you choose not to register for the 2026 academic year, you'll have to re-apply for admission during the next application period.

If your application for the 2026 academic year is declined because you didn't meet the minimum requirements, you may apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), provided that you are 23 years of age or older and you have at least 5 years current and relevant work experience.
