Amanda Sithole
Amanda Sithole is a beneficiary of the Motsepe Foundation Bursary, which was set up to help alleviate student challenges pertaining to registration, fees and historical debt. Born and raised in KwaDukuza in KwaZulu-Natal, she is a shining example of resilience, determination and ambition.
She completed matric at Shakaskraal Secondary School. A motivated and hardworking person, Amanda is always eager to take on new challenges and learn and grow while making a lasting impact on her community and country.
Her academic journey with Unisa began when she was still in high school. "I first heard about Unisa through one of my high school teachers who was guiding us through career choices," she explains. "That’s when I learned about the opportunities that Unisa offers."
Sithole is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Economics. She chose this career path with a vision of working for one of South Africa’s leading companies and contributing meaningfully to the country's economic development.
Even though her journey has been challenging and her studies hard, Amanda says she has embraced and enjoyed the journey.
With heartfelt emotion and deep gratitude, she reflects on the financial support she has received:
"I am so grateful. God is good, and He always shows up. May God bless the Motsepe Foundation! I hope that what has been done for me can also reach other students who have lost hope and are just about to give up because life didn’t turn out how they thought it would. Thank you so much to the Motsepe Foundation. Halala!"
