English version

Swi Hlola Ku Humelela is an emotive historical drama which deals with the harsh realities of the farm workers during the apartheid era. Furthermore, it alludes to the fact that white people cannot be perceived as a monolithic group that was entirely against black people through its unwavering support for racial policies. The main characters are subjected to inhumane treatment in a white-owned farm. Yet, they finally get a breakthrough in life due to help they received from a white person who is a stranger to them.
This book is an eye-opener, especially to young people who lack insight about institutionalised racial segregation in South Africa. It will also encourage the reader to be enthusiastic in considering dialogue as a means to reconciliation and a viable alternative to violence, thus promoting unity among South Africans of diverse origins.
