Journals

Unisa Press is the only university press in Africa with a book and journal publishing programme. This provides a unique platform for local  researchers, while ensuring visibility for African scholarship around the world.

All Unisa Press journals are peer reviewed and most of our journals are accredited by the South African Department of Higher Education and Training. Unisa Press is an active member of the Publishing Association of South Africa and many of our Journal Editors are members of the National Scholarly Book Publishers Forum. Several journals are listed on major indices such as Scopus, Web of Science, IBSS and ScieloSA. Our journals are distributed internationally and our journal distribution partners include; Sabinet and EBSCO.

UNISA Press also has a co-publishing agreement with Routledge/Taylor & Francis. This innovative partners is devoted to showcasing scholarship from Africa in the global arena. All journals within the agreement, many published in collaboration with learned societies and professional associations, are provided with state-of-the-art publishing services for both print and electronic editions and international distribution and marketing.

The journals portfolio covers a wide range of subjects in the social sciences and humanities, and also in the natural and physical sciences. Quality, standing, and far-reaching interest are the hallmarks of journals in the co-publishing programme and additional titles are considered on a selective basis. A differential regional rate is available for each of the journals through UNISA Press.
