Unisa to host Digital Technology Conference

The University of South Africa will be hosting the Digital Technology Conference from 24 to 26 February at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Convention Centre in Tshwane.

The conference will be organised in collaboration with the South African Defence Force, the CSIR, the College of Law, the College of Economic Sciences, Telkom and Adapt IT. It will bring together delegates from across the globe and will be held under the theme "Harnessing inclusive and transformative technologies for sustainable development".

The main aim of the conference is to provide a platform for experts, professionals, students, academics, technology professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers and other stakeholders to explore digital technology trends, share knowledge, reflect on lessons learned, discuss opportunities and challenges, and inspire one another to contribute to the growing body of knowledge and recent developments in digital technology.


The objectives of the Digital Technology Conference are as follows:

  • Encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to foster collaborations on digital technologies
  • Showcasing cutting-edge research in digital technologies
  • Serving as a basis for knowledge and data
  • Sharing ongoing and published work on digital technologies


Expected impact

It is expected that the conference will explore ongoing discussions about the role of innovative technologies across various sectors, including, though not limited to, the economy, finance, media, safety, law, health and communication.
