The Unisa Science Campus

Unisa has made science a priority and has, therefore, made a huge investment in developing a science campus with modern facilities and high-end equipment dedicated to advancing science, engineering, technology and research at a national level.

Science in action

The colleges of Science Engineering & Technology and Agriculture and Environmental Sciences support Unisa’s research goals and strategies. CSET focuses on two of its strategic niche areas in particular, the innovation and capacity building in science and technology, and open distance learning with a specific focus on the teaching of science, engineering and technology. CAES boasts leading cutting-edge laboratory and horticultural facilities and supports research activities in the fields of agricultural, animal health horticulture, nature conservation, consumer and other vocational sciences.

Unisa is a leading provider of postgraduate programmes in Africa. To assist and support postgraduate students and researchers, a dedicated college, the College of Graduate Studies, was established. The college does not offer graduate programmes but provides a range of research training programmes and enrichment activities
