Are South Africa’s biggest looters within the public sector?

As the country counts the cost of the recent devastating violence in KZN and Gauteng, Bafo Khanyeza, Lecturer at Unisa’s College of Accounting Sciences, warns of the even worse silent looting of public sector coffers that has been gripping South Africa for a while and which will remain long after the country has overcome the ramifications of the riots.

Khanyeza believes in contributing to the public’s discourse for good governance. His article, SA’s biggest looting problem lies within its public sector, featured prominently on News24 and lingered in the top stories for a number of days. It was warmly received by readers and subsequently featured in other news networks, amongst others, legal brief forensic, a legal news network, as well as Flipboard.
