The Department made history by introducing a unique MOOC to assist anyone interested in obtaining or sharpening some skills in design and layout principles.
Three academics in the Department of Communication Science Prof Elnerine Greeff, Dr Hannelie Marx Knoetze and Mrs Martine van der Walt-Ehlers took the initiative to design and offer a free course on design principles named Communication Media 101: Design and Layout of Communication Media. The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was officially launched on 13 February 2019 and is open to all interested including students.
