Dr Daisy Selematsela, Executive Director: Unisa Library and Information Services
The Executive Director of the Unisa Library and Information Services, Dr Daisy Selematsela, has been nominated to serve as a member of the South African Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA) for a three-year term running until January 2023. Founded in 1966, CODATA exists to promote global collaboration to advance open science and to improve the availability and usability of data for all areas of research.
Furthermore, Selematsela has also been re-elected to the Board of ORCID, a global, not-for-profit organisation sustained by fees from member organisations and governed by a Board of Directors.
She is also newly elected to Research4Life, an organisation designed to enhance the scholarship, teaching, research and policy-making of the many thousands of students, faculty, scientists and medical specialists focusing on health, agriculture, environment, and other life, physical and social sciences in the developing world, through free or low-cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online.
