Purpose: The aim is to train livestock technicians to identify appropriate sheep and goat breeds, enterprises and production systems for more efficient sheep and goat production. The module will be useful to livestock technicians, agricultural scientists and farmers who are interested in breed selection, production, improvement, management and marketing of sheep and goats and their products. Students who complete this module will be able to identify, describe, discuss and apply appropriate livestock production technologies and strategies for efficient sheep and goat production for sustainable food security and the development of the local livestock sector.
