Reaction Engineering - REE2601

Diploma Year module NQF level: 6 Credits: 12
Module presented in English Module presented online
Pre-requisite: MAT1581, CEF1501, CHE181T Co-requisite: MAT2691, CEF2601, CET2601
Purpose: The purpose of this module is to introduce the student to basic concepts of chemical reaction engineering. The student will first learn to perform unsteady state material balances, stoichiometric and reaction equilibrium calculations before being introduced to the basics of reaction kinetics that will be applied to derive ideal reactor models. This module is part of the Diploma in Chemical Engineering. This module will develop competency in the design, analysis and operation of chemical reactors.
