| Purpose: To provide the Student with an introductory knowledge of the science of the following: Fibrous materials used in pulp and paper processes, Paper properties and testing methods used for paper quality control and the processing of water such that both the inflow to a pulp or paper mill and the effluent are suitable both in terms of quality and environmental legislative requirements. Students completing this module will develop a thorough understanding of these concepts and will be better equipped to perform their function as Process Controllers in the pulp and paper production environment. |
