| Purpose: To train student in the techniques and practice of translation from and into French/English. This module aims to provide students with a practical aspect of translation, which will enable students to, visualised and comprehend that the transfer from one language to another is not just a simple transcription of a linguistic system to another. Students are introduced to the practice of translation by engaging with syntax, semantic and especially pragmatic problems. Moreover, this process is more than a sign system; It involves a thinking system, and thus, it entails not only conveying the message from the source text in language a but also the style, the tone, the emotive factor as well as the mood and the feeling created in the source text to the target language. |
