Purpose: This module is intended for all people, local, African and global, who are pursuing a career in the field of Personnel and Career Psychology. The purpose of this module is to gain comprehensive, specialised knowledge, critical reasoning ability and applied competence in personnel and career psychology that will enhance individual, team and organisational performance. The qualifying student will be able to critically evaluate, review, reason and apply: -The purpose and importance of personnel psychology from an open systems perspective. -The various techniques, approaches and concepts relevant to recruitment, selection and placement, to ensure transformation. -Models, processes and techniques relevant to employee training and development, performance management and compensation. -The nature and characteristics of careers in the 21st century workplace. -Principles underlying specific career theories, techniques and tools.
