Purpose: The module introduces students to neoclassical microeconomic theories of consumer and firm behaviour. Students will be able to explain the behaviour of consumers and firms and predict the performance of the economy by using concepts such the demand and supply and price sensitivity; consumer behaviour; production; and the operation of different market structures such as perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly.
