Purpose: The purpose of this module is to provide students with a professional development programme in the policing field. More specifically, it aims to equip students with value, knowledge and skills to enable them to investigate and solve selected crimes successfully. Students will be shown how knowledge or related subjects, such as Criminal Law and Law of Criminal Procedure and Evidence, can be applied to crime investigations. This module seeks to incorporate aspects of Africanisation and indigenisation of law enforcement. Whilst it also recognises that the constitution is home grown and that the Bill of Rights advocated for Ubuntu, social responsibility and humanised law while investigating different crimes.
