| Purpose: The purpose of this module is for students to gain knowledge and skills to practically apply the theory and principles of punishment. This module is based on the understanding of the theories and philosophical bases of penology in the correctional environment. Students who take this course will have a basic understanding of the definition of the concept of punishment, understand the theory, and concept of social control, the theoretical framework for offender handling and crime, norms and punishment objectives. |
