Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with the ability to identify and describe fields and scope of social work practice and explain their significance within the content of social work practice in South Africa. Qualifying students will be able to identify selected social welfare policies and legislation relevant to the fields of practice, to address vulnerability, poverty and other developmental challenges faced by members of the South African society
