Purpose: Qualifying students will gain advanced technical knowledge for determining common engineering principles about work study including the following topics: work measurement, method study, ergonomics and workstation improvement principles and techniques. The student should be able to carry out a workplace improvement study and use the results in designing or redesigning a workstation, develop teams to ensure synergy for productivity improvement. Students can engage in work improvement activities in manufacturing as well as services industry the sector, in the field of Industrial Engineering as part of their Diploma. These competencies contribute to the development of efficient work methods and standards in a workplace which will ultimately improve the standard of living in Southern Africa. Enrolled students in this will engage on online module site which will assist in gaining core fundamental knowledge for the subject.
