Diploma Year module NQF level: 6 Credits: 12
Module presented in English Module presented online
Pre-requisite: EGP1501 Co-requisite: EGP1501
Purpose: Skills in computer-aided drafting (CAD) are increasingly valuable and sought in the workplace. Qualifying students will be able to develop a concept from a simple 2D sketch into a 3D parametric part design, assembly design, and creating production-ready part and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor. The student will receive "hands-on" training and will develop the techniques that are essential in today's job market, incorporating the CAD E-learning software, this module will teach you how to leverage computer aided design software to perform 3D mechanical design, product simulation, tooling creation, and design communication. Autodesk Inventor provides a comprehensive set of 3D mechanical CAD tools for producing complete digital prototypes. The Inventor model allows the qualifying student to create production-ready part and assembly drawings and then visualize, simulate and analyze how a design will work under real-world conditions.
