Purpose: The specific purpose of Electronics 2 is designed to build the necessary knowledge, understanding, abilities and skills required towards becoming a competent practicing Professional Engineering Technician. This module provides students: 1.With the knowledge on semiconductor materials theory, PN junctions, Diodes, Bipolar junction Transistors, Transistor biasing, Power amplifiers, Field Effect transistors and Thyristors. 2.With the educational base required for registration as a Candidate and/or a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA (Refer to qualification rules). 3.Entry to programmes such as Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering technology Honours Degree programmes. 4.Entry to an Advanced Diploma upon successful completion of a work-integrated learning component, or a combination of work-integrated learning and coursework, equivalent to at least 30 credits but not to exceed 120 credits.
