Purpose: On completion of this module students can critically assess different habitats (i.e. marine, estuarine, freshwater and terrestrial) in the southern African context. The different zones and limiting factors of each habitat are identified and adaptations of organism to survive in each are described. The value of each habitat as a resource is outlined and Man's influence is assessed.
