Purpose: Work directed theoretical learning refers to practical experience similar to experience which would be gained working in industry. This practical training provides students with an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge to relevant problem situations, and to gain exposure to typical organizational culture, human relations and working conditions. With suitable guidance and supervision, the students will be taught to work independently and to develop an awareness of the ethics and requirements of the working world. The students therefore have the opportunity to develop their talents and to equip themselves to take up their place as citizens of this country by contributing to the well-being of society. Students would be required to attend this particular training at the Chemical Engineering Laboratories, UNISA Science Campus, Florida for a period of six months.
