On behalf of Unisa and the South African Council of Churches (SACC), we warmly invite you to join us for the Women’s Day Commemoration 2026.
The commemoration will honour the women of the historic 1956 Women’s March and celebrate their enduring legacy while encouraging present and future generations to pick up the baton and carry their work forward.
The programme includes:
• Framing the commemoration by Prof Puleng LenkaBula, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of South Africa
• A keynote address by Dr Sophia Theresa Williams-De Bruyn
• A message of support by Rev Mzwandile Molo, Secretary General of the South African Council of Churches
Participants are encouraged to wear denominational attire, cultural dress or traditional wear in celebration of our shared heritage and diversity.
