The Principal and Vice Chancellor of UNISA, Professor Puleng LenkaBula and the entire university community join the music industry and the country in general in mourning the untimely passing of renowned South African singer, songwriter and lawyer, Advocate Tebogo Steve Kekana.
Steve Kekana was an illustrious member of the UNISA community, both as an alumnus and former employee of the university. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) in November 2020 and had also previously worked as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law for eight years.
Mr Kekana was an exemplary South African who defied the odds presented by his blindness to succeed as a musician, academic and lawyer.
The music may have stopped, but the melody will remain with us for eternity!
