The Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Unisa, Prof Puleng LenkaBula, and the university community have received with sadness the news of the passing of Prof Vinesh (Dr) Basdeo, the Executive Dean of the College of Law (CLAW), early this morning.
Prof Basdeo was an accomplished academic, NRF-rated researcher, a respected manager and servant leader, and an unapologetic proponent of transformation within and outside the university. He was an integral part of those who are leading from the front to ensure the success of transformation and the centering of the academic project in the broader affairs of the university.
The university extends its sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Prof Basdeo. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult hour!
