The name of the game

The inaugural lecture of Prof Hossein Jafari, Mathematic Sciences, titled The name of the game, took place on 10 September 2018.

His lecture concentrated on fractional calculus and some of the mathematical methods that have been introduced during the last few decades in applied mathematics and engineering. Jafari focused on the relation between those methods and classical methods.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

A lion. I like this because it was a symbol of my country, Iran, and also it is one of the Big Five here as well.

What’s the best advice you’d give your 18-year-old self?

Study hard and be a useful person for your family and the community and you will have an effective role in helping people in future.

Maybe just different subjects


How do you manage work-related stress?

I usually go outside with my family to get more energy and control my work-related stress. Sometimes I go near the sea, a river, lake or garden. Specially Florida Lake.
