Andrew Spaumer studied Social Work at the University of Pretoria where he obtained a BA Honors Social Work and master’s degree in Research Social Work. He researched on the topic “Conflict Management in Black African Marriages” a study he completed in 2018. He has many other academic achievements from different institutions of learning both in South Africa and other countries. He completed his Foundation Certificate in Counselling, Skills and Practice with Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology in the United Kingdom. Using the Pluralism therapeutic approach, he has the necessary skills to apply different therapeutic approaches in helping clients reach their highest potential. He has worked as a children's social worker as well as an employee wellness consultant for different companies.

Andrew has represented the Social Work field of South Africa at the International Association for Social Workers with Groups (IASWG) both in 2009 in USA Chicago and 2014 in Canada, where he presented papers at both symposiums. Currently he is serving as a board member for the IASWG. He was invited by the University of Pretoria’s Department of Social Work and Criminology as keynote speaker at the Pledge Ceremony for Social Work Graduates. He has appeared on several Television and Radio programs addressing issues around Life, Trauma, Relationships and Marriages. Andrew is currently studying towards a Doctor of Social Work with the University of South Africa, where his research is around child protection and how the religious institution can play a role in building a strong foundation for children. He lives by the motto “if you cannot see it happening then don’t pray for it."
