Awards

  • Awarded a scholarship by Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in collaboration with Pennsylvania State University, University of Western Cape and the University of Limpopo to study stigma and HIV/AIDS (2006-2007).
  • Awarded a scholarship by the Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad (VLIR) / Flemish Interuniversity Council (IUC) (2013 – 2015) as well as the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS) in collaboration with the South African Humanities Deans Association (SAHUDA) (2014 – 2016).
  • A conference paper was rated the best at the 2016 NIHSS National Doctoral high impact conference on the 2-3 November 2016.

Projects

  • Involved in a community engagement project on improving learners’ school performance and educators’ motivation in teaching - in selected Soshanguve high schools.
  • Tateni community engagement project empower and support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) through educational guidance and counselling led by the Department of Psychology and College of Education (CEDU) at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
