The African college of excellence in the social and human sciences
If you’re looking for things to do at home or are in need of a change of scenery, simply grab your laptop, tablet or phone, and join us on the university’s very first 360° virtual tour of two exhibitions at the Unisa Anthropology and Archaeology Museum.
The original may be out of reach for now, but you can still see the exhibition come to life from the comfort of your couch. Sidney Butler, the photographer, and Francois Coetzee, the museum curator who does the tour and narration, have compiled a full "walk-around" with a voiceover description that will get you up close to many remarkable artefacts in a brief overview of the Stone Age and Iron Age exhibitions currently on display.
So, without further ado, enter here for this 360° virtual walkthrough. Click on the settings (wheel) symbol in the top right-hand corner of the screen to switch on the audio tour. (You may need to sign in with your Google account to view the video.)
