A teacher by profession with more than 16 years of experience as an educator and head of a department. In addition to a diploma and bachelor’s degree, she has a Master of Science degree in Education from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree studies with the University of South Africa.

Bomkazi not only has a passion for youth empowerment but she also possesses extensive knowledge of and experience in career planning for the youth. She has worked as a Project Manager for an initiative that was meant to encourage the youth to choose careers in areas or disciplines that were regarded as scarce skills. She has also been involved with various voluntary community development projects like teaching adults and assisting the youth with appropriate subject choosing and career planning whilst in high school. Bomkazi’ s professional association with Unisa started when she was hired as a contract marker for Curriculum Studies and Educational Psychology in 2012 before she joined the Department of Adult Education and Youth Development as a lecturer in July 2014.
