Community Engagement and Outreach

Deploying Engaged Scholarship for Development: 2023 Projects

Unisa joins the monumental efforts required to realize global, national and international development aspirations. Through engaged scholarship we develop the social capital needed for engaged research, engaged teaching, curriculation and theory-making.

Collectively, Unisa's colleges are putting their knowledge and diverse talents to work through a range of innovative and socially responsive projects. Unisa’s engaged colleges work to mobilize social, political, and academic networks for African development collaboration.

Our scholars and intellectuals develop high impact and socially responsive engaged development projects that operate in diverse development contexts.

In 2023 Unisa’s colleges host 119 active development projects linked to the goals and aspirations of the NDP, Agenda 2063 and the SDGs.
