Worship and Preaching in Diverse Communities - MNY2603

Under Graduate Degree Semester module NQF level: 6 Credits: 12
Module presented in English
Pre-requisite: MNY1502
Purpose: This module will be useful to students wanting to understand and interpret worship, preaching and music in the context of the specific community within which they live, and the role of worship in transforming the community in the own context of the student and within Africa. This module will be useful for learners to develop into people who are able to reflect theologically and critically upon worship, preaching, music and space in a variety of social and cultural settings. On a practical level the module will empower people who have to create liturgies and sermons and lead worship: worship leaders, preachers, prospective pastors, ministers, music leaders, readers and lay people involved with worship in a variety of ways. The activities contained in this module are designed to assist the student in creatively internalising the content by way of a process of reading, critical reflection, integration and action.
