Unisa hosts successful virtual open day for 2026 Ethiopian admissions

On 17 October 2025, the Unisa Ethiopia Regional Learning Centre hosted a successful virtual open day, drawing a broad audience of prospective master’s and doctoral applicants. The event showcased the centre’s proactive efforts to guide and support future scholars through the 2026 admissions process.

The session was officially opened by the Regional Director, Dr Tsige Aberra, who warmly welcomed attendees and reaffirmed Unisa’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality postgraduate education in Ethiopia. Her remarks set the tone for an informative and engaging programme that highlighted the centre’s dedication to student success.

Presentations delivered by the Deputy Director, Meseret Tefera, and Aberra offered attendees a clear and comprehensive roadmap to admission. Key topics covered included

  • a brief history of Unisa and its contributions in Ethiopia
  • step-by-step guidance on preparing and submitting applications
  • document preparation and SAQA evaluation procedures

Following the presentations, attendees participated in a dynamic question-and-answer session facilitated by student advisors. Participants received detailed responses to a wide range of queries, demonstrating the centre’s commitment to supporting potential students with clarity and care.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Tefera, who expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation and reaffirmed the centre’s readiness to assist applicants throughout their academic journey.
