Mr LA Maseko is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Mining Engineering, College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET), University of South Africa (UNISA). He has been handling modules ranging from Metalliferous Mining, Surface Mining, Engineering Management and Work Integrated Learning.

He started his career in deep-level gold mining in the old JCI group, and later worked in the Anglo American coalmines. He is currently working towards a working towards PhD qualification in the characterisation of South African coal for non-energy purposes. In addition, he is currently involved in the development of new mining modules for the Advanced Diploma in the new Programme Qualification Mix.
