Other

Dr Mamba is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability Research Unit (NanoWS), College of Science, Engineering and Technology, University of South Africa. His research involves design and preparation of photocatalytic materials for environmental decontamination. Dr Mamba obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Johannesburg in 2015 where he was working on rare-earth doped titania/carbon nanomaterial heterojunctions for dye degradation. Shortly after his PhD, Dr Mamba joined Prof Ajay K. Mishra’s group at NanoWS as a Postdoctoral Fellow for one year, working on magnetic nanocomposites for water treatment. In 2016, Dr Mamba was awarded the prestigious Swiss Government Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship to spend one year at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. During this fellowship, Dr Mamba worked in the Institute of Basic Sciences and Engineering, Group Advanced Oxidation Processes headed by Prof Cesar Pulgarin and conducted research on photocatalytic coatings for degradation of emerging pollutants. Dr Mamba currently co-supervises 2 MSc students.
