It is with great excitement that I warmly welcome you to the website of the Department of Communication Science at UNISA. To both our incoming and continuing students, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your choosing to be part of the biggest Communication studies department in the African continent and one of the biggest Communication studies departments in the world. Our Department offers cutting edge research and teaching across the communication studies sphere.
Our educational programmes include the following: 1. Diploma in Public Relations, 2. Bachelor of Arts: Communication Science, 3. Honours in Integrated Communication, 4. Honours in Media Studies, 5. Masters in Communication Science, and 6. Doctor of Philosophy (Communication). These programmes are taught and supervised by a total staff complement of about 61 people. Of course these numbers increase and decrease based on the circumstances of the department. Through our staff complement, we undertake to provide the best training possible within our foci. As a department in research, we are also of the opinion that we have the expertise required to guide in your journey of trying to make sense of the communication.
