Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies Writing Retreat 2022

The department of Curriculum and Instructional studies hosted their annual Writing Retreat from 14 – 17 March 2022.   During this four-day event, 24 CIS staff attended academic and article writing workshops.  At the end of each day, staff had the opportunity to submit their research to critical readers for feedback from esteemed scholars, including two visiting professors, Professor Felix Maringe and Professor Gert van der Westhuizen.

Research mentors that supported staff as critical readers during this retreat also included revered senior researchers in the department of curriculum and instructional studies such as, Prof P. Biccard, Prof E.C. Du Plessis, Prof T.I. Mogashoa, Prof P.K. Mudau, Prof T.M, Taole, Prof G. van den Berg and Prof M.M van Wyk.

Sixteen articles were developed during this retreat and will be completed and submitted for publication within the coming weeks.  Emerging scholars that attended this retreat unanimously agree that this retreat has greatly benefitted their research and article writing skills and look forward to increased research outputs as a result.

A massive thank you to Prof P.K. Mudau and Mrs F. Lewis for planning and hosting this event.

Siyakuhalalisela to the CIS department!
