Purpose statement:

Module 1: Nature of Employee Assistance Programme
The purpose of this module is to describe the nature of Employee Assistance Programme in organisations, its role, functions, principles and scope in enhancing employee performance. Learners accredited with this module will be able to understand the nature of EAP and conduct need assessment for EAP in their organisations based on its role and function in addressing performance issues at an individual, group and organisational levels.
Module 2: Initiation and implementation of EAP s in organisations
The purpose of this module is to identify EAP s contemporary models, service delivery systems, resource allocation process, stakeholder engagement strategies and ethical process at an individual, group and organisational level. Learners accredited with this module will be able to initiate and implement Employee Assistance Programmes in their organisations based on the relevant theoretical models, strategies, techniques and ethical considerations.
Module 3: Development of EAP policy and procedures
The purpose of this module is to identify critical aspects in EAP policy development. Learners accredited with this module will be able to develop EAP policy and procedures for their organisations focusing on objectives of the policy, employee participation guidelines, services offered, role and ethical principles of professional team, and reporting/feedback processes.
Module 4: Impact assessment of EAP
The purpose of this module is to describe impact assessment processes for EAPs in organisation. Learners accredited with this module will be able to formulate quality management standards, evaluate, monitor, write reports and implement continuous improvement principles for their employee assistance programmes.

EMPASS1 - Nature of Employee Assistance Programme

Content: Definition of Employee Assistance Programme. Role and functions of EAP at individual, group and organisational levels. Principles and scope of EAP's. EAP need assessment

EMPASS2 - Initiation and Implementation of EAP in Organisations

Content: Models of EAP and service delivery systems. Types of EAP strategies and techniques at an individual, group and organisational level Resources allocation for the programme. Stakeholder engagement and marketing of the programme. Ethical considerations for implementing EAP.

EMPASS3 - Development of EAP policy and procedures

Content: Outline of the objective and purpose of policy. Guidelines on employee participation in EAP Procedure and types of services offered Role, function and ethical principles of professional team Reporting and feedback processes

EMPASS4 - Impact Assessment of EAP

Content: Quality management standards for EAP Programme evaluation and monitoring strategies Report writing Continuous improvement principles for EAP
