Purpose statement:

The purpose of this short learning programme is to:
ユProvide relevant information that would lead to a greater understanding of issues pertaining to inclusion and disability, and
ユUse the increased understanding to improve service provision for students with disabilities, and to promote the development and implementation of inclusive teaching and learning policies and practices that would respond to the needs of these students.

Modules:

CSIIED1 - Understanding Disability

Content: The following knowledge is embedded within the module, and will be assessed in accordance with the specific outcomes and assessment criteria: The main models of disability; Definitions of disability in line with the models of disability; The broad legislative and policy framework; The role of disability awareness and advocacy in promoting the rights of students with disabilities; Implementing the transformation principles.

CSIIED2 - Inclusive Teaching and Learning

Content: The following knowledge is embedded within the module, and will be assessed in accordance with the specific outcomes and assessment criteria Understanding inclusive education; Inclusive teaching and learning; Universal Design for Learning; The role of access technology and assistive devices in teaching and learning; Teaching and learning support to promote the success of students with disabilities; The active participation of students with disabilities in their teaching and learning The self-representation of students with disabilities.
