Purpose statement:

The purpose of this course is to provide students interested in banking and/or risk management with a fundamental knowledge of these management disciplines.

Modules:

CCBF015 - Fundamentals of Banking

Content: The module covers the following: the banking environment; the intermediation within the South African financial system; the importance of the financial service sector; the code of banking practice; characteristics of the banker-client relationship; and customer needs and requirements within a banking environment.

CCBF026 - Fundamentals of Risk Management

Content: The module covers the following: typical risks in a financial environment; regulatory requirements; and a practical approach to risk management.
