Celebrating student resilience through graduations

Unisa, through the KwaZulu-Natal Region, held its autumn graduation ceremonies, celebrating the resilience of students and wishing them well as they embark on a new chapter of their lives. Nine ceremonies were held from 16 to 18 May 2023 in Durban. Over these three days, the university conferred qualifications to 4 857 students.

Such ceremonies provide time to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Graduating also opens new opportunities for graduates. The ceremonies, therefore, warrant optimism as graduates are filled with hopes and dreams for what lies ahead.

The region congratulates the following staff members who received their qualifications during the graduation ceremonies in May:

  • Zilungile Ngcongo - Diploma in Information Technology
  • Nelly Mbele – BA: Health Science and Social Services
  • Langelihle Ndimande - Bachelor of Business Administration
  • Simangaliso Mahlambi - Bachelor of Business Administration

Obtaining a degree while working is commendable and showcases dedication to personal growth and professional development. Well done on this remarkable achievement!

Furthermore, we acknowledge the following students who received their doctorate degrees during the ceremonies:

  • Dr Vaneshree Govender
  • Dr Sershin Naicker
