In accordance with Unisa’s mission, "towards the African university shaping futures in the service of humanity", Unisa Radio continuously strives to be the African voice that educates, entertains and informs the youth and the Unisa community. We also carry this vision in unison with the core values of the university such as responsive student-centredness, dignity in divert, and integrity.

Mission

• To nurture and develop a sense of community amongst students and staff
• To enhance students’ learning experience, including of students with disabilities, by using radio as a medium for stimulating academic debate
• To contribute to the academic agenda and showcasing Unisa’s academic excellence
• To establish a medium that ultimately has the potential to reach Unisa students worldwide
• To be a training facility that provides students interested in the broadcasting field the opportunity to develop and learn relevant media skills
