CAS commits to remain steadfast in its mission to serve students diligently

On Tuesday, 20th February 2024, the Senate Hall at the Muckleneuk Campus buzzed with anticipation as the College of Accounting Sciences (CAS) held its official academic opening for the 2024 academic year. Led by the distinguished Executive Dean, Dr Moses Hlongoane, the event served as an occasion for reflection, assessment, and strategic planning for the year ahead.

The college's official academic opening, which follows the institution's academic opening ceremony held at the beginning of each year, provided an opportunity for the college's community to come together and examine the successes and challenges of the preceding year. In his address,  Hlongoane took a moment to express gratitude to the dedicated staff members who had been instrumental in the college's success.

He emphasised: "Your contributions serve as a testament to the collective effort that drives CAS forward." Moreover, Hlongoane congratulated the entire college community for successfully retaining the accreditation of the CTA (Certificate in the Theory of Accounting) qualification for another year (with conditions). This achievement highlights the college's commitment to maintaining high standards of education and professional development in the field of accounting. Other achievements include implementing the  ITC board course and support, CTA support classes and successfully running the CTA hybrid examinations.
