Return of Library items

The Department: Library and Information Services calls upon all Unisa clients, whether registered for the 2021 academic year or not, who are in possession of Library items borrowed before the National Lockdown of 26 March 2020 to return these items at their nearest Unisa Branch Libraries, Unisa partner public libraries or to courier the items back to the Unisa Libraries at their own expense.

When libraries were closed during 2020, clients were allowed to continue using loaned library items in their possessions. But since 2021, the libraries began operating under certain restrictions, and all library items overdue must be returned to the nearest branch or regional libraries. During this campaign/period, items falling in this category and returned during this time will not attract a penalty/fine.

Important: If you choose to visit your nearest Unisa Library, it is mandatory to book a time slot on the Booking App before you will be admitted to a campus or branch. You must wear a mask that fully covers your nose and mouth. Bring your student card and display your booking on the app to the Security Officers on duty at the entrance to the campus or branch and at the entrance to the Library. Your temperature will be taken at the entrance to the campus or branch. Please take good care of the receipts for the items you returned.
