The NRF has included the chair within its SARCHis programme with annual funding dedicated to it. The 2014 funding of R700 000 is being used to support two postdoctoral and four postgraduate fellows. The NRF grant letter was received by the office of the Vice-Principal: Research & Innovation and copied to the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and the iThemba LABS Director.
