The Chair is involved in strategic relationships with a number of international organisations: the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (Geneva, Switzerland); the United Nations Institute for Economic Development and Planning (Dakar, Senegal) on capacity-building for African public sector policy institutions under the theme of “Social Policy for Development Planners”; and the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (Dakar, Senegal). The research project on Social Policy Dimensions of Land and Agrarian Reform is a joint effort with the African Institute for Agrarian Studies (Harare, Zimbabwe).
UNRISD and CODESRIA are strategic partners of the SARChI Chair in sponsoring the biennial “Social Policy in Africa Conference.” Previous editions of the conference were held in November 2017, 2019, and 2021.
