Rethinking Poverty:

  • Precarious Non-Poor in Africa
  • Social Policy architecture and poverty reduction

Comparative Social Policy:

  • Reflections on the African social policy experiences
  • Social Policy in the context of development
  • Health Sector Reform
  • Financialisation of Social Protection in Africa / Bottom-of-the-Pyramid Business Model meets Social Assistance.
  • Social Policy Architecture and Responses to the Covid-19 Pandemic

Non-formal Social Policy:

  • Non-formal Social Provisioning
  • Social Altruism and Social Provisioning

Candidates interested in other thematic areas of Social Policy are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are required to submit a two to three-page Concept Note on their areas of interest for the post-doctoral or postgraduate research projects, evidence of previous scholarly works (this may include a thesis or published scholarly work) and complete an online application form.

Applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship should have at least one publication in a journal or conference proceedings.  The selection process will include formal interviews of shortlisted applicants.
